All submitters will receive notification of their abstract's status by this date. Information about the next stage, including full paper submission guidelines and deadlines, will be posted soon.
Paper & Presentation Information
The 15th North American Masonry Conference (NAMC 2027) is now reviewing submissions from the initial abstract submission stage.
Authors of accepted abstracts will move into one of two submission tracks:
- ·Full Paper, for inclusion in the conference proceedings
- Presentation Only, for authors who prefer to present without submitting a paper.
Submissions may address masonry materials, design, construction, performance, and emerging technologies, and may include research findings, technical studies, case studies, field applications, project experiences, educational initiatives, and emerging practices relevant to masonry in the built environment.
Abstract Submission & Review
The initial abstract stage closed on September 7, 2026 and submitted abstracts are currently under review. Authors will receive notification about their submission’s status by September 30, 2026.
Authors of accepted abstracts will move into one of the two submission stages described below.

Manuscripts should be a maximum of 9 pages, excluding references, and must be submitted via Oxford Abstracts as a single PDF.

Review Criteria
Significance of Contribution – How novel and meaningful is the paper's contribution to masonry practice or research?
Citations – How well does the paper cite relevant scholarly literature?
Methodology – How appropriate and rigorously executed is the paper's approach? (For non-empirical papers: how sound is the reasoning or approach?)
Communication of Results – How clearly are the paper's principal findings and conclusions presented?
Support for Conclusions – How well do the paper's conclusions follow from the data, analysis, and limitations presented?
Presentation & Organization – How clearly written, organized, and well-illustrated (figures/tables) is the paper?

All presenters, in both submission tracks, must use the template below. Because AIA learning units will be offered for conference sessions, presentations must be educational and non-promotional, with no company logos or proprietary content.
